I’m posting this ad for a leisurely sale when the right buyer shows up to decrease my car collection by one car. Thorough maintenance going forward has been done on this car, dramatically reducing the possibility of wear items causing problems when compared with other 928s with 72,000 miles on them. For a 928 enthusiast, it may not quite be the super rare find of a never used car with only 20,000 miles on it. But, both in mechanical and interior condition, it will be a find that is far superior to other 928s of comparable mileage.

Recently, along with the timing belt and water pump job, I had the engine pulled out of the car and replaced the front and rear engine gaskets, tensioner rollers, valve guides, intake and exhaust valves, knock sensors and engine mounts. All AC and other hoses and potential wear items that run through the engine compartment that can only be changed when the engine is out were replaced at this time. This job was done by the Porsche Audi specialty shop that I have known for many years, and also used for a 944 and Audi Quattro I had before this car. They will be happy to fill you in on the work they have done on it. Devek also speaks highly of these guys as a North Bay alternative to people who don’t want to drive down to the South Bay to their shop.

Most of the other essential engine parts only have several thousand miles on them, including all engine wires, plugs, caps, rotors, coils, belts, vacuum lines, gaskets and the fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter, and so on.

The car itself is meticulous aesthetically and in terms of minor mechanical items. Anyone rating it would definitely call it no less than a 9.5, if not 10, out of 10. The condition of the seats and dashboard are superb and the windows and sunroof are all moving at normal speed (i.e. no signs of cracking leather or worn moving parts found on most 928s). The floor mats were also replaced not much more than a year ago. The prior owner also had the head covers custom powder coated.

The car itself is black with a tan interior and still has window tinting from its prior owner from Phoenix. It has a custom Kenwood Stereo and new speakers that were installed by the prior owner about a year and a half ago. It has an exhaust bypass, but I still have the resonator which can be put back on if you would like to remove the throaty sports car sound.

It has essentially new (about three thousand miles ago) Toyo high performance, Z-rates tires and a new Optima battery.

It appears that all prior owners of the car were also typical sports car enthusiasts. Apparently the original owner sold the car after about 58,000 miles over 14 years on it when he bought a Ferrari, and the two owners between him and myself each only put about 6,000 miles on it over about two years each. This has been my third car, and used for fun on weekends.
