Text: 2004 Layton Model 299 – Scout Travel Trailer for sale. $18000 OBO
We are selling our travel trailer that is in awesome condition. We are hoping for it to go to a family that will enjoy it as much as we did. It will accommodate a family of 5 for sleeping and good times.
For Mom and Dad there is a separate sleeping area with a queen bed, a set of bunks for the kids (or adults – lots of leg room) and a couch that can sleep a couple of kids or an adult very comfortably. This trailer has one pop out which is for the sofa couch and one of the best features is the “Garage Door”. This is in the area of the bunk beds. The bottom bunk folds up when not in use and this area can be accessed from the outside and used to store the B-Que, the chairs, folding table, lanterns, water toys, brooms, you name it. The shower in the bath has a skylight, so it makes it really nice for the taller person in need of showering. You never feel cramped. There is a lot of storage in this trailer that most likely it will not be filled up. Outside the bathroom is a closet for the kids stuff, overhead storage above the 4 person dining table, overhead storage above the sofa bed, storage under the dining bench seats, storage on the backside of one of the dining seats, storage under the refrigerator, storage under the stove/oven, over the kitchen countertop/sink and underneath storage with plenty of drawers as well. Then off the bedroom with even more storage; lift-up queen bed for storage, two wardrobes and outside storage. This trailer can not be beat for the storage that’s for sure.
The kitchen is the best part of very user friendly trailer. I have prepared a lot of meals in this kitchen and have found it to be very user friendly. With plenty of counter space to hold your coffee maker, toaster, can opener, etc. and with easy access to the door, it makes it nice to pass the food, condiments, etc. right out to the picnic table for all to enjoy. The refrigerator is very nicely sized and holds quite a bit of foods including a gallon sized milk. It has a 3 burner stove, oven and microwave. The only thing that does not work in the trailer is the stove fan. For some reason it has not worked, and I guess we never felt it was important enough to tow it down the mountain and into town to have it fixed. It was apparently a feature that was not missed or really ever needed.
Another plus to this trailer, is that only the bedroom has carpet so you will not see a bunch of stains anywhere as the rest of the trailer is done in vinyl which makes for very easy clean up with a broom and washcloth.
Lake Berryessa has been her home lake and when she was not used, she was stored there. So the wheels and tires have not seen too many road miles, which makes for a lot of tire miles to come.
You are probably asking why we are selling such a wonderful trailer and our answer to that is; we are looking into purchasing a Motor Home that we can tow with (such as a car trailer on our venture into dirt track racing again).
We are asking that only serious buyers contact us as we feel that this trailer would be much more beneficial to someone purchasing from a private party than off the lot. We feel that asking $18k is a fair price for the product you will be receiving, but we are open to any other serious offers as well. We are not set in stone with our price and we do want her to go to a good home and could make acceptations in this case.
We have brought her home to Santa Rosa for viewing, so if you are seriously interested in making an offer, please contact my husband, Steve at 707-486-1656 with any questions or comments. As always, the limited photo quantity allowed on Craigslist, just does not do her justice. So, please call and set up a time with us to take a look at her more closely and see what we are talking about. You will not be disappointed.
