Text: THE GOOD:
Charcoal gray, strong 3.3L V-6 engine, “Grand” Voyager which means it has extra cargo capacity behind the rear bench seat (can hold a couple of kids’ bikes, strollers, camping gear, lots of groceries, etc.), front wheel drive, seven passenger, front captains chairs and two removable rear bench seats (lots of cargo space with bench seats removed), dual sliding doors, roof rack, power steering, newer JVC AM/FM Cassette/CD/MP3 stereo and new front and rear speakers, 12-disc CD changer, no rips/tears in upholstery, carpeting, headliner etc., no leaks, doesn’t smoke, no rust, good mechanical condition, power windows, power steering, power door locks, cruise control, tachometer, good routine maintenance (oil changes, fluid levels), tilt steering, driver and passenger side airbags, air conditioning (works great), anti-theft system (we usually keep it disabled because it can be a hassle), Michelin tires - two of the tires are fairly new (about 5% worn) and two are fairly worn (90%+ worn), good wheel alignment and balancing, rides smooth, newer battery, rear window wiper and defroster, and of course about a million cup holders.
THE BAD:
146k miles, recently rear-ended in a traffic accident (rear bumper gouged, tailgate needs adjustment, spare tire holder damaged and muffler and tailpipe damaged), power rear side vents don’t work (bad switch?), passenger power window control cannot open window, can only close it – (driver’s side controls can open/close both windows), power side mirror controls won’t always work in all directions, needs battery for remote door lock activator, driver’s side power door lock works intermittently, overdue for timing belt replacement and replacement of other belts hoses, broken sun shade clip on driver’s side, parking brake has never worked well, and needs new rear windshield wiper blade refill.
THE UGLY:
Long horizontal crack in windshield about 1/6 up from the bottom, shallow but long horizontal dent in passenger side rear quarter panel (not particularly good looking), cracked right-rear tail light lens, little dings in several spots, oxidized front headlight covers, various dirt spots and stains on carpet and interior.
We bought this van in 1999 when it was one year old and had 22k miles on it. We are its second owners. This van has hauled our growing family everywhere. It’s been a great van and we’ve never had any major mechanical problems with it. The only mechanical items we’ve had to replace were the battery, and the front brakes. We like this van and kind of hate to see it go. But, frankly, it’s getting tired (as described above) and we need something with fewer miles that we can count on being reliable for a long time to come. Also, we didn’t want to spend the money to have the accident damage repaired. We’ve already got our replacement van so we’re not motivated sellers and aren’t really interested in haggling over price. We’ve set the price low already to more than compensate for the “bad” and the “ugly”.
That’s about as much full disclosure as I can think of. I’ll try to post better pictures shortly. If you’re interested, please email.
