Text: I have a very nice Toshiba Theater View Project TV for sale. Television is in excellent shape, no known problems. I am moving soon and unfortunatly won't have the room for it. Very sorry to have to sell this TV...
I have this TV priced at $800/pickup only Santa Cruz County. After much searching I have determiend this to be a fair price. Beware of those selling a TV of this caliber for less!!
The only thing missing is the original remote. I will throw in a free pre-programmed Sony Universal remote to the lucky buyer.
Here is some information about it:
Toshiba is renowned for superior projection televisions and the new TZ50V61 is another example of engineering artistry. A dramatic 50-inch picture - driven by a trio of 7- inch CRTs, a digital comb filter and sophisticated circuitry - fills a narrow cabinet that fits in almost any size room (except the one in my new home, lol).
ColorStream® Component Video inputs make the TZ50V61 DVD-ready.
Two-tuner picture-in-picture and the new Multi-Window offer unsurpassed viewing choices...all a key touch away on the Advanced Universal Remote with lighted keys. And the Front Surround Sound with Sub Bass adds powerful realism to everything you watch - from the 6 o'clock news to the latest Hollywood blockbuster

PowerFocus™ Lens System
PowerFocus™ is a high quality four-element lens system that is designed to maximize both sharpness and brightness. The light emitted from each CRT (red, green, and blue picture tubes) has different characteristics. While maintaining brightness may be more critical to one CRT, maintaining sharpness may be more critical to another. By utilizing a combination of lens technologies, including both red and green color purity filters, Toshiba engineers have carefully matched lenses to each gun for the best possible combination of sharpness, brightness, and picture uniformity.
TheaterBright™ Screen
TheaterBright™ screens utilize a double lenticular (two-lens) configuration, combining a Fresnel and fine .72mm pitch Blackstripe screen. The screen is tinted for increased contrast, and we have incorporated a surface layer diffuser, which concentrates the tinting on a thinner layer of the surface of the screen. The result is a high resolution, high brightness screen with a wide 160 degree viewing angle for use in any room.
Multi-Linear Digital Focus
Multi-Linear Digital Focus is an advanced digital convergence system used on all Toshiba Projection TVs. 168 (56x3) points are set by a computer at the factory for precise convergence. Fine home tuning can be done simply by using the remote control to adjust nine points, or areas, on the screen. The result is virtually perfect corner to corner convergence for the best possible focus, and superior picture quality.
Digital Comb Filter
Comb Filters analyze scanning lines to separate the Luminance (black & white) signal from the Chromanance (color) signal, without limiting bandwidth like a Trap or Notch Filter. This allows the TV to process the entire video signal, without a reduction in resolution. In the process, Analog Comb Filters often produce dot crawl along edges in the picture. A Digital Comb Filter converts the analog signal into a digital signal for more accurate processing, virtually eliminating dot crawl or cross color interference for a superior picture.
Advanced Velocity Scan Modulation
Velocity Scan Modulation changes the scanning speed of the electron gun as it transitions between dark and bright areas of the picture. This allows the picture tube to create clean transitions for sharp well-defined edges. Our highly sensitive system significantly improves image detail for incredibly clear picture quality.
Theater Mode (Picture Preference)
Theater Mode changes the basic picture set-up conditions to create a "movie theater" like picture. Many user selectable settings such as brightness, contrast, color, and color temperature are automatically adjusted. In addition, some normally non-user adjustable settings, such as Velocity Scan Modulation are also adjusted to recreate the ultimate (home) movie theater experience.
Color Temperature Control
Many Toshiba TVs provide three user selectable Color Temperature settings. Warm (NTSC standard - 6500 degrees Kelvin) which creates a redder picture, Medium, and Cool that creates a bluer picture. This allows you to adjust the picture to meet your individual taste.
Black Level Expander
BLE increases the Black Threshold Level (when the gun is producing no light in that area). This means that blacks are pure black, not slightly gray. This significantly improves overall picture contrast, making the image appear sharper and more three-dimensional.
Fine White
Reduces CRT output for narrow white peak areas. This avoids blooming and provides sharp edges between white areas and darker areas.
Wide Band Video Amplifier
As standard video amplifiers increase the gain of the video signal, video bandwidth tends to decrease. This eliminates the higher frequencies, reducing resolution. A wide band video amplifier maintains the higher frequencies, enabling higher resolution.
Flesh Tone Correction
This circuit adjusts the IRE level, and color saturation to ensure true skin colors.
Video Noise Reduction
Reduces luminance (black & white) noise, which is commonly called "snow".
Plus:
Invar Shadow Mask
Red & Green Color Lens Filters
AUDIO ENHANCEMENTS
Surround Sound
Front Surround Sound takes a standard audio signal and simulates a surround sound effect. Using only the two speakers inside the TV, this system creates the feeling that you are enveloped in sound for a true home theater experience.
MTS Stereo / SAP with dbx®
A Multi-channel Television Sound decoder enables the television to accept and decode broadcast stereo. Unlike some systems, which delete dbx, MTS provides the full quality of the original stereo broadcast. Secondary Audio Program enables the reception of bi-lingual broadcasts, when available.
Sub Bass System (SBS)
Sub Bass System (SBS) creates a bass boost at and around the 100 cycle audio frequency area. This creates a noticeable increase in bottom end and overall fullness, for an improved home theater sound.
MultiWindow Dual Tuner Picture-In-Picture (PIP)
Now you can watch two channels at once, or find out whats on all your favorite channels. Two built-in tuners allow picture-in-picture without the use of a VCR. In Single Box Mode, you can change the size of the sub-picture, move it to different locations on the screen, or freeze it. Six Box Mode allows a continuous Channel Preview of all of your channels in six sub-pictures along the bottom of the screen. Nine Box Mode allows a Favorite Channel Preview of your nine favorite channels in a "tic-tac-toe" formation. It also allows you to Strobe Freeze the live action in those same nine boxes.
New "V-Chip" Parental Control System
All new Toshiba TVs (13" and above) now include the new V-Chip. This feature allows parents to decide which show ratings are appropriate for their children. The TV will then block out the audio and video of any program that has a rating beyond that level. Parents can override the system at any time using their secret code.
Tri-Lingual Icon On-Screen Display
All TV functions can be easily accessed using the remote control and our Icon based on-screen display. This full-featured system can be operated in English, French, or Spanish. By using the four cursor buttons on the remote control, your favorite features or settings are only a click away.
Sleep Timer
At the touch of a button, Sleep Timer allows you to fall asleep watching TV and have the TV turn itself off up to three hours later (in 15 minute intervals).
Channel Labeling
Channel Labeling allows you to put the Call Letters (e.g. ABC, HBO, etc) on the screen along with the station numbers, so you always know what youre watching.
Closed Captioning on Mute
Any time you press the Mute button, Closed Captioning is automatically engaged. So, if one viewer needs to hit mute to answer the telephone, another can still read along.
Channel Lock
Allows you to lock out channels that you do not want your children to view. These channels can be unlocked by inputting your secret code.
Power Return
If the power to the TV is discontinued while the TV is on, the TV power will return when the power returns. This is useful when the TV is connected to a switched outlet such as on a cable box.
Noise Muting
Audio noise (or hiss) will be muted when the TV tuner is on a channel without a signal.
Channel Return
Pressing this button returns you to the last channel you were viewing. This allows you to easily switch back and forth between two channels.
Favorite Channel
Allows you to input your 12 favorite channels, and easily scan through only those channels.
Dual RF Inputs
Two RF (or antenna) inputs ensure that the Dual Tuner PIP will be useful, even if you need to use a cable box. They can also be used to connect both cable TV, and an antenna.
ColorStream® Component Video Input
ColorStream Component Video Inputs are the best inputs to use for todays higher resolution digital sources such as a DVD player, or digital set-top box. Because the video signal is split into its base components (Y which is the black and white part of the picture, Cr which is Y minus Red, and Cb which is Y minus Blue), the signal remains pure and unaffected by the TVs NTSC tuner or comb filter. The result is higher resolution and greater color purity for the ultimate in picture quality. Toshiba continues to lead the way by including ColorStream component video inputs on all single-tuner and dual-tuner picture-in-picture models.
Front A/V Inputs
Front A/V inputs are perfect for connecting a camcorder or other portable device.
A/V Outputs
A/V outputs allow you to send the audio/video signal to a VCR for recording. The fixed audio outputs can also be sent to an A/V receiver, and provide a cleaner signal than variable audio outputs.
Energy Star Compliant
Energy Star is an EPA rating that designates that the TV has low power consumption to help the environment. Virtually all Toshiba TVs are Energy Star compliant.
