Text: I have the carfax report, which is perfect. I am the 2nd owner. I bought this truck from the dealer, who accepted it as a trade-in. The dealer verified that all servicing was done. I have taken very good care of this truck, and I have most of the servicing receipts to prove it. The service manual recommends oil changes every 5,000 or 7,500 miles. I changed the oil between 3,000 and 5,000 miles, probably averaging 4,000 between changes, which is one of the reasons this truck runs very well today.
The last major servicing was done at 165,000 miles:
1) New starter.
2) New water pump and thermostat.
3) Timing belt and fan belts.
4) All fluids changed, including transmission, differentials, etc.
5) Tuneup (sparkplugs).
6) Valve adjustment (according to the mechanic, 22 valves were in perfect adjustment, only 2 valves needed a little tightening).
7) Hydraulic clutch bleeding/adjustment.
8) Front brake pads (rear drum pads are still 80% good).
9) Throttle body cleaning.
Specifications:
3.4 liter V6, 190HP
2" factory lift, part-time 4x4 with auto-locking hubs
PW, PL, Pmirrors, cruise, 5 speed manual, tilt wheel, front/rear bench seat, tan interior, sliding rear window, topper also has sliding rear window. Full size spare tire mounted under truck bed.
This truck does not have a tow hitch, and has never been used for pulling anything. I did have an ultra-lite pop-up camper on it for a couple of summers.
Modifications:
1) I put a set of air springs on the rear, which enables this truck to carry up to 1 ton. Air pressure in the springs must not exceed 100 psi.
2) I put a topper on the rear. The paint is slightly darker on the topper. The light is pre-wired in the topper.
3) Aftermarket stereo by Sony (faceplate missing).
4) Bike rack mounted on front bumper.
5) Bug deflector mounted on hood.
6) Keyless entry alarm system. Ignition disables w/alarm.
Imperfections:
1) Windshield has a couple of spider cracks and impact dents. This is the original equipment windshield. $200 to replace.
2) The faceplate for the Sony Stereo was recently stolen. $75 to replace.
3) Needs new tires 265/70R/16. $600
4) Outside paint has many scratches. There is no rust.
5) Driver's side seat is showing some wear; a seat cover is $100.
6) Intermittent delay on wipers rarely works. Replace switch $30.
7) Air conditioning blows cold, but could be colder. A/C has never been recharged. Recharging is $70.
The following items have never needed servicing.
1) clutch.
2) muffler.
3) rear brakes.
4) #1 oxygen sensor (#2 replaced at 90,000 mile servicing).
This truck is licensed through May 2007. Price includes:
1) Truck with a clean California title.
2) SMOG certificate.
3) Futon mattress, in bed of truck (great for camping).
I am confident the engine and drivetrain on this truck will go at least 400,000 miles, if properly serviced, and 500K - 600K would not surprise me. I have been very easy on this truck, which is why the original front brake pads lasted 165,000 miles, and the clutch still works perfect. It is rare to find a perfectly serviced T100. The Kelley Blue Book value is $6,260, private party value assuming "good" condition.
